I know I could do double extrudes, double straight sweeps or double straight lofts. The error message says that the centerline needs to be smooth, but I would prefer to not do that. I then realized that loft could be an option, and I've tried using my side rails as well as using a center rail (maybe goes without saying, that when doing either ways, the other lines has been construction lines etc). When I tried making a regular sweep (just to see), inventor could do it, but then it make the whole hole 2 mm all the way (as expected), which isn't what I want. They need to be straight as this would be the way to manufacture the piece (think of a cylinder, drilled 90 degrees from one of the circular sides and then a 30 degrees angled drilled hole from the side. I first tried making a sweep guide rail ( ), with a circular profile at the top and two lines as the tutorial, with the exception that I need straight lines and not a spline. The top hole should be 2 mm and the angled hole should be 2,3 mm. Basically I have a revolved part, where I want to create a hole, with either a sweep or a loft. 
A lot feel very similar to SW and I'm mostly comfortable.įor a client I'm now creating 3Dparts where one of the holes I need to insert, is causing me problems.
I've used Solidworks and Ironcad (+rhinoceros) professionally, and only had a basic education in Inventor. Hi, I'm pretty new to Inventor so hopefully this question will be simple for more experienced users to answer.
